Camron and Olivia turn 3!!!

My, My. It's been a very long time since I blogged so I have a few posts to go to try to catch up! I will start with Cam and Livy's birthday celebration(s). We had two this year. Brent is only off one weekend a month so we had to celebrate with family on Sept. 24th and then decided to do another with a few friends on the day of their actual birthday which was Oct. 3rd. Both parties were absolutely wonderful and the kids have had the best two weeks ever! Here are some pics from the family party...

Cam wanted dinosaurs, Lightening and Mader, monster trucks and tractors! See Mader going backwards? That was Brent's idea LOL!

This year Cam and Livy got to "design" their own birthday cakes! They talked about their cakes on a daily basis leading up to the party and their ideas were very creative and fun! The fabulous Annette Prochaska made the cakes and I think she had fun with it too!

Olivia wanted princesses and horses and pink pigs and Holley!

We are so happy and blessed to have wonderful family and friends to share our special days with! Thank you all for coming to help celebrate!

The week after this party we took the Cam and Livy to San Antonio to Sea World (that's a whole other post in itself)!

Then finally came October 3rd! Our miracle babies that had a slow start at life turned 3 years old!!! They have grown and changed so much. On this day back in 2008 our lives changed forever! At 3 years old we have mini versions of ourselves with all the attitude to go along with it!
Since Brent was back at work for their actual Bday we decided to celebrate with some friends of ours so we could still party all day long! When the kids were little we started a playdate group with some other sets of twins and their mommies and although we don't get together as often as we use to, I figured this was a good excuse for a playdate! Some of our old group are in Pre-K 3 school programs and were unable to attend, but we still had fun with those that could make it! The party was Dino themed and I think they all had a great time with it!

My Pregnancy

Feb. 22, 2008 - Positive Pregnancy!
Feb. 28, 2008 - TWINS!
14 Weeks - Cervical Cerclage
24 Weeks - Admitted to the hospital for 3 days -Pre-Term Labor. Sent home on fetal monitoring and terbutaline pump. I have to monitor for contractions once a day and send the readings in for review. The terbutaline pump in a cathater in my leg that sends a contiunous flow of "anti-contraction" medicine into me. Complete bed-rest!
28 Weeks - Admitted to the hospital for 90% effacement of cervix. Cerclage still in tact but pulling. If it broke I would have to deliver and this is too soon. The babies are measuring 2.8 and 2.11 pounds. Was in the hospital for 23 days this time.
31 Weeks - Was sent home. Babies were 3.9 and 3.10 pounds. Stay on bed-rest.
36 Weeks 3 Days - Scheduled C-Section

5 Years of Infertility

Brent and I had dated for years - since my senior year of High School and were finally married on September 27, 2003. We had been together so long that we decided we would start a family immediately. Things turned out to be a bit more difficult than we planned. After many years of trying and medical intervention I was finally diagnoised with Endometriosis in Feb. of 2007. My disease was severe - stage 4 and had spread to my liver. After having exploratory surgery Dr. Cook thought that my ovaries and tubes were capable of functioning properly enough to produce a pregnancy but with the hostile environment inside of me I would need lots of help. We began Lupron therapy that would last 6 months as a way to try to "kill" off some of the endo. When the 6 months was up we began rounds of Clomid with IUI (Intra-Uteran Insemination). We did 2 cycles of this with no result. Our only other option was IVF which we decided to begin in January of 2008. After carefully following the treatment schedule of meds. and shots we had 14 eggs retrieved on Feb. 5, 2008 and of the 14 eggs 6 fertilized and became embryos. On Feb. 8, 2008 Dr. Gill transfered 3 of the best of the embryos. Two weeks later (Feb. 22nd) MaryLou called with the good news that my pregnancy test was positive!!!
